Last week, we had our first three-day week-end thanks to the Memorial Day which occurs at the last monday of the month of May. There are supposedly many more holidays in the US, but it seems that Siemens doesn't care about that and only give us a few which include Memorial Day, New Year, Christmas, Independence Day and maybe more but I won't be here anymore :p.

So, as we had plenty of time to spend, we decided to go to an amusement park not far from our apartment, around 30 minutes by car, which is called Six Flags: Great Adventure. To resume what the park is one word: AWESOME !

The only amusement park I used to go was mainly in France, sometimes in Belgium and one time in Australia, but it is amazing how many roller coasters this park has. We didn't have the time to ride all of them ... Even without waiting to much on the line. As in France, we only have 2 or 3 roller coasters per park, this place is just awesome for people who loves that !

So, we started with "Batman - The Ride", a roller coaster where we are suspended :) ! It was my first time riding one of this kind and the sensations are amazing, almost touching the ground, not knowing exactly where we were going, it was really a nice start for the day !

After that, we went to "Nitro" ... This ride was nice, but I think that I was never so scared in a roller coaster ... The fastest one I have ever ridden in France might be "Tonnerre de Zeus" in the "Parc Asterix", but it nothing compared to this one ! As we were climbing for our first drop, I was anxious as how high we were, but my friend next to me seems to be relaxed, hanging his arms on top of his head. So, I did the same, just relax as we were headed for the first and endless drop ... When the train started his fall, as usual, we started screaming ... But not long after that, no sound could go out of our mouths since the drop seemed to be endless, we couldn't even see the rail below us ... The rest of the ride was also awesome, but we didn't laugh when we talked about the first drop :) ! This is really something to try !

First ride of the afternoon: "Kingda Ka" ! This is something you can't find anywhere else in the world since it is the fastest and the tallest roller coaster in the world. We were seated in front, the train start to move and then stop, waiting for the launcher to come below it. Then, a voice tells us to stay put, our head against the chair, and ... BAM ! The train goes at 128 MPH in 3.5 seconds, an acceleration you can't find anywhere, and climb up vertically at 138 meters to start a vertical drop. This roller coaster is Awesome, maybe the one I preferred since it gives you sensation you can't have in other roller coasters. You don't even have the time to be scared, everything happens so fast !

Then, we went for "Superman", a roller coaster where we are suspended by the stomach, as if we are flying :) ! I can't tell you much about this ride because we might have lost a lot of sensations not being on the first row ... Since we are suspended in an unusual way, if we are not on the first row, we can't see much of the ride except the feet of the people in front of you ... Nevertheless, it was still a good one, especially the looping on the back :D !

Now was time for "Medusa", a classic "floorless" roller coaster with 7 loops :) ! We had experienced a lot of thrilling sensations with "Nitro" and "Kingda Ka", so this ride was a nice one to rest a little.

The last one we did before leaving was "El Toro", a wooden roller coaster which might be compared with the "Tonnerre de Zeus" ... but much much faster ! Seated on the train, it doesn't lose any time and the first climb is done in less than 3 seconds, not need for the usual "suspense" ! And then, the first drop ! If we hadn't done "Nitro" first, we might had thought that this drop was the scariest, but we had experienced a lot during this day, so it was scary, but still okay: I could still produce some sound :D ! But it is still amazing how fast it goes, not even slowing down during every turns, this is a roller coaster to try !

So, to resume every thing, this day was an amazing day experiencing thrilling experience, maybe death experience :D !

During the two over days, we went on regular visit, Sunday was a Mall we wanted to see, the one with "The Cheesecake Factory", and on Monday, Fabien and I went to New York City walking in Central Park enjoying the warm weather.

By the way, I totally forgot to talk about the numerous animals we had crossed since we are here. You already knew that there are a lot of squirrels, but what surprised us was to see a dead opossum on the road, and the next day, a vulture eating the dead animal ... I have also seen some marmots, or ground hogs according to my manager, while walking to the Golds Gym.
